
Wilson Feed Mill was built in approx. 1853-55 by Andrew and Robert Alexander & family on the banks of the Ohio & Erie Canal Thus it is still marked on many maps as Alexander's Mill . It was operated by them until sold to Thomas Wilson & his son around 1901. They had previously owned a mill in the Mill Stream area (modern day Broadway Ave & Miles Ave).Five generations of Wilsons have worked here in the years since.
The Mill primarily was used in the milling and selling of grains , flours ,
Animal & poultry feeds.In the 1920's My Grandfather, Thomas George Wilson II, boasted he made & sold the best bread flower in the area.
Changes come & changes go. His son,Thomas Richard, was next at the helm from the 1960's into the 2010's.
